These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Syzygy Enterprises, LLC ("ChoreUnlock," "we," "us") governing your use of the ChoreUnlock app and website (the "Service"). By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian of any child who uses the Service to create an account. You are responsible for setting up and supervising each child's use, and for all activity under your account. Children use the Service only under your supervision and control.
ChoreUnlock helps families turn chores into earned screen time. Parents assign chores and rewards; children complete them and, on supported devices, apps you choose are locked until chores are approved. The screen-time locking relies on Apple's Family Controls / Screen Time features. ChoreUnlock is a tool to assist parents — it is not a substitute for parental supervision, and we do not guarantee that any lock cannot be bypassed by a determined user or affected by changes Apple makes to its systems.
You agree not to misuse the Service, including: using it to harass, harm, or unlawfully monitor any person; attempting to breach or circumvent security; reverse-engineering the app except as permitted by law; or using it in violation of applicable laws. You are responsible for using the screen-time and monitoring features lawfully and appropriately within your own family.
Children may submit proof of chores (for example, photos, voice recordings, or notes). You and your family retain your rights to that content. Proof photos are private to your family and are permanently deleted once a chore is approved or rejected (and automatically after 7 days if not reviewed). By using the Service you grant us the limited right to process this content only to operate the features you use (such as optional AI photo checks). See our Privacy Policy for details.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and how we handle it, including information relating to children.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any app lock or parental control is fully tamper-proof. Screen Time and Family Controls are Apple technologies that may change or behave differently across devices and iOS versions.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Syzygy Enterprises, LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
We may update the Service or these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if required to protect the Service or other users.
These Terms are between you and Syzygy Enterprises, LLC only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the Service. To the extent permitted by law, Apple has no warranty obligation with respect to the Service, and any claims, losses, liabilities, or costs attributable to a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the Service, including product-liability, legal or regulatory, or intellectual-property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government restricted-parties list.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Syzygy Enterprises, LLC is organized, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
